Easy 15-Minute Salmon Patties for the Whole Family (Paleo, Whole30, Keto)

Jump to recipe

When you’re pressed for time (when aren’t we) and need to make something fast it’s a lifesaver to have a few go-to recipes.

This is my husband’s go-to.

If we’ve done the shopping and stocking work ahead of time it doesn’t get any easier than these 15 minute salmon patties.

All you need are eggs, canned salmon, almond flour and spices.

We decided to go traditional with dill, parsley, lemon, and paprika but you could easy go a different direction with garlic and rosemary, or coconut aminos and ginger.  Use your imagination and vary the flavors each time you make these patties to keep things fresh.

We purposely made this recipe without sweet potatoes, butternut squash, or breadcrumbs of any kind so you can make it fast.  This zero-starch approach also makes it low-carb and accessible for anyone on a ketogenic diet.

A Couple Things Before You Start to Cook

Most canned salmon includes the whole fish bones, skin and all.

But don’t freak out.

It might sound gross, but the bones are essentially dissolved at this point and they’re an excellent source of calcium. In fact, whole salmon patties are one of the best non-dairy sources of calcium you’ll find.

Also, be careful to keep the patties intact through the process.

Without sweet potatoes, butternut squash, breadcrumbs or other starch to keep the patties together they’ll tend to fall apart if you’re not careful. As they cook they’ll become more firm and easier to flip.

And If You Think It Needs A Sauce, Try This

These easy salmon patties are delicious on their own, but even better with a healthy sauce.
Here’s what we used. Chipotle Lime Mayo from Primal Kitchen.

It would also go great with any ranch or avocado-based sauce.
